Specialty Fitness

Fitness classes fall into two categories: group and water fitness classes (which are included in a community center admission/membership), and specialty fitness classes (which are not included in a community center admission/membership and do require class registration). 

Combine the mindfulness of yoga with the added balance challenge of practicing on water! This class utilizes paddleboards in the pool to take your yoga practice to the next level!

Hydr02ga is a no-impact, deep water exercise that is challenging, strengthening, toning, aerobic, relaxing, and balancing for the emotional, physical, and mental body. Learn how to practice underwater movements that will enhance the mind/body connection, create breath awareness and core alignment.

Intro to Line Dancing
If you've never danced before, but always wanted to try, come and enjoy learning how to line dance with us!  Step by step instruction to popular line dances like the Electric Slide, Boot Skootin' Boogie, Footloose, and many more.  No experience or partner needed.  Learn the latest dances and be the star of the next party, cookout, or wedding reception.

Jazzercise ®
Jazzercise is a pulse-pounding, beat-pumping fitness program that gets you results...fast. It's a calorie-torching, hip-swiveling dance party with a hot playlist to distract you from the burn!

Line Dance Party
An hour of back to back line dances. Classes are fun, energetic, and a great way to shed pounds, socialize, and make new friends. No partner required. If you have previous experience with the dance, that's great, and if you don't, you can either follow along and learn as you go or take a break until your favorite begins!  Move to the music of Today's Country, your favorite oldies, Disco, and more. Let's get down and boogie!

NIA is a fusion fitness of dance, martial arts, and body / mind practices. It involves 52 moves that focus on longevity without injuries. It includes Jazz, Modern, and Duncan Dance Styles. Each routine has martial arts of Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do and Aikido. Body / Mind practices, such as Feldenkrais Method, Alexander Technique, and Yoga make NIA more than just a workout. The music ranges across cultures and styles. There is no right or wrong within the NIA experience. It accommodates all levels of abilities, ages, and moods!

Learn the basics of Broadway tap dance along with a choreographed dance number by the end of the session. Designed for beginning adults who want to improve their tap dance skills and exercise with joy.

Learn intermediate levels of Broadway tap to improve dance technique and performance skills along with 1-2 choreographed dance numbers by the end of the session. Designed for adults with a dance background, who already know how to do a time-step, and who would like to perform for our Community events (performing is optional).

Ages 7 and up. Must be able to do a forward and backward roll. This class will focus on roundoffs, cartwheels, handstands, bridge, bride-from standing, back and front walkovers.

Turns & Leaps
Dancers ages 7 and up. This technique class would be a time to really focus on all types of turns (pirouettes, fouettés, Piqué, tours, chaine, ect) and jumps (jetes, cabriole, leaps in second and attitude, double axels, etc).

Yoga for Kids
Using movement, games, sharing, breath work and visualization, Yoga for Kids demonstrates how to create an active, safe, and inclusive environment for kids and teens to counter the stress in their lives.
