EVRPD offers three fun and rec-competitive softball leagues during the summer months. There is a co-rec upper league that will utilize a two-man umpire mechanic and is for somewhat more experienced and competative teams. The co-rec lower league will be for teams that may not have as much experience and are looking to have a lot of fun and will have a one-man unpire mechanic. Men's open league will be utalizing a two-man umpire mechanic and does not have any co-rec specific rules (example: there is not a certain number of women required on the field) but women are welcome to play in this league also. Please click on "program details" below to learn more about the exciting softball leagues!

What night does each division play? Men’s- Monday nights, Co-Rec- Wednesday nights
What time do games start? 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, or 9pm depending on the week
How many games do we get? Each team is guaranteed 8 regular season games plus a single elimination tournament.
When is the tournament? Men’s League is the evening of Monday, July 30 and Co-rec will be on the evening of Wednesday, August 1.
How many people can I have on my roster? Rosters are unlimited but must be finalized by the third week of play. Only players on the roster may participate in the end of season tournament.
Why are the team fees different? The Men’s League along with the Co-Rec Upper League are at a higher rate since there will be a two-man umpire mechanic for each game vs. a one-man mechanic for the Co-Rec Lower League.
How do we determine if we should play “upper” or “lower?” “Upper league” is recommended for teams that have experienced players that are competitive and would prefer two umpires on the field (one at home plate and one in the field). “Lower League” is recommended for teams that might not have as experienced players or are new teams to the game who are looking to play at a leisurely level with one umpire at home plate.
What type of bats are permitted? Only ASA or USSSA approved bats are legal (1.2 BPF rating).
“I would like to play, but I do not have a team.” We can add you to a free agent list and pass along your contact information to the team captains as they register. It is then their choice to contact you if they would like you on their team. If we have enough free agents who are not picked up by the start of the season, we can build an entire free agent team. To be added to the free agent list, contact Laura (information below).
How old do I need to be to play? Participants must be 16 years old by the first day of play.
