EVRPD Recognized for Outstanding Recreation Center and Website

Estes Valley Recreation and Park District (EVRPD), the provider of numerous recreational opportunities in Estes Valley, is excited to announce two awards they recently received: one for the Estes Valley Community Center and one for the EVRPD website.

The most recent award, the Columbine Award for New Facility Design, was presented to EVRPD by the Colorado Parks and Recreation Association at the annual banquet on Thursday, September 13, 2018. A recreation organization receives the award each year for the best new facility in Colorado that opened in the past three years.

“We were ecstatic to learn about the award,” said Tom Carosello, Executive Director for Estes Valley Recreation and Park District. “We put a lot of effort into completing and opening the facility, so it felt great to receive the recognition from our peers.”

The award selection committee judges the entries based on the compelling community need the project addressed, how the facility met that need, the value the facility created for the community, creative and innovative elements within the facility, and more.

EVRPD also received a bronze Horizon Interactive Award (HIA) in the government category for evrpd.com in April of this year.

The HIA is among the most prestigious international awards in the field of interactive and creative media. This award recognizes those agencies and organizations that create the best websites, website design, interactive, videos, online advertising, print media and mobile applications.

Colorado Interactive is the team behind Colorado.gov, the official website of the state of Colorado and the platform used by EVRPD to host their redesigned website.

“Our mission is ‘enrich lives with quality recreation’ and our citizens expect no less from their online experience,” said EVRPD Marketing and Communications Manager, Dawn Wilson. “Our website is critical to our business. If it’s inconvenient to find information on our website, then we aren’t serving our community. The redesign of the website resulted in a more responsive, user-friendly experience.”
