EVRPD to Hold Final Public Meeting and Job Fair Before Opening Community Center
Estes Valley Recreation and Park District (EVRPD), provider of numerous recreational and community activities in Estes Valley, announced the final public meeting and job fair prior to opening the Estes Valley Community Center (EVCC).
On January 10, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Estes Park High School Commons, EVRPD will host a joint event to answer any final questions about the construction of the community center. EVRPD human resources will also be on site to provide information about job openings at the new community center.
“We want to provide the community with a final opportunity to ask questions and learn about the amenities within the facility,” said Teresa Jackson, Manager of Community Center Operations. “Although much of the facility is the same as was originally planned back in 2015, we have made additions and modifications to improve upon the original scope of the 70,000-square foot, multigenerational facility.”
The program will include a review of facility amenities and fees at the top of each hour during the meeting followed by a question and answer session. EVRPD departments, including recreation, senior services, community center and aquatics, will have booths set up with information about specific program offerings at the community center.
For attending the event, all attendees will be entered into an hourly drawing for two four-punch passes after each presentation.
“As part of the event, I will be on hand to accept applications and answer questions about job openings at the new facility as well as provide an initial look at summer seasonal jobs,” said Suzanne Landkamer, Human Resources Manager for EVRPD. “In particular, we are seeking qualified candidates for part-time positions as lifeguards, guest service staff, custodial staff, child-watch attendants and specialty class instructors for our new community center.”
The Estes Valley Community Center continues to stay on schedule for a late February 2018 opening. At the most recent project status meeting, Adolfson and Peterson Construction, the company guiding the project from start to finish, announced that the construction progress exceeded 90 percent completion.
