How is the President really elected and what is the Electoral College?

When our founding fathers were writing the Constitution, they decided they wanted every state to have a role in national elections and did not want to leave it up to Congress or just part of the population consisting of the more populous states. 

So the Founding Fathers came up with a system of “electors” or pre-selected people from each state that ultimately elects the President and Vice President. 

Launch of Behavioral Health Data Management System on Track for Fall 2019

OBH has been working since 2013 in close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders to standardize meaningful outcomes for the behavioral health system by selecting key data elements and to integrate historical substance use and mental health data collection across the state. Known as Colorado COMPASS, the new system will be live Oct. 1, 2019 and will replace the outgoing Colorado Client Assesment Record (CCAR) and Drug and Alcohol Coordinated Data System (DACODS). A Passport to World Cuisine at PVYSC

 PV passport jan 2.jpgPlatte Valley Youth Services Center began a new culinary and cultural program called “A Passport to the World,” in which youth will create a special meal that will focus on a different country each month. January’s focus was on China and a celebration to honor the Chinese New Year. The menu for this exciting treat was: Tofu Lo Mein, Stir Fried Vegetables, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Chinese New Year Cake. 

College Career Fair for 4 GMYSC youth

On January 26, 2019 Grand Mesa Youth Services Center took 2 staff and 4 Female youth to Colorado Mesa University for a Women’s Career Fair. These females have consistently gone above and beyond in the facility. They have shown leadership on the unit as well as in school and other areas. These young women have either graduated or are currently working on getting their high school diplomas and are eager to move forward to higher education.
