MED Medical and Retail Marijuana Business Licenses must be renewed each year. The MED Office will send an email notification ninety days prior to the expiration date of the license to the business contact email address provided by the licensee. We strongly encourage owners to submit their renewal application packets as soon after its receipt as possible. If your renewal application is received after the business license expiration date you must cease operations and apply for a new marijuana business license. In this instance, owners may not reopen the business until they are approved for a new license. Be aware that if the owners allow a State marijuana business license to expire it may also affect the status of their local authority license.
While the business license renewal process is essentially the same for both Medical and Retail Marijuana Businesses, the license requirements are slightly different for each industry. In-person submissions must be made between the hours of 8:00 and 11:00 AM or 1:00 and 4:00 PM - keep in mind that you will meet briefly with a member of the intake staff, so please plan accordingly.
