MED Associated Key License Renewal

Owner/Associated Key Licenses must be renewed each year.  The MED Office will mail (via the U.S. Postal Service) notification ninety days prior to the expiration date to the contact address provided by the licensee.  We strongly encourage owners to submit their renewal application packets as soon after its receipt as possible, you will need to:

If your renewal application is received after the license expiration date you must apply for a new Associated Key license and you must be removed from the ownership structure of any MED licensed marijuana business you own as you cannot have an ownership interest in a licensed marijuana business without a valid Associated Key License.  It is important to note that if all of the Associated Key licensees within the ownership structure of a MED licensed Colorado marijuana business are allowed to expire the business must cease operations and surrender its license(s) as well.

State statute mandates that all Associated Key Licensees are to be fingerprinted at least every two years. Associated Key licensees can be fingerprinted at any MED Office during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on normal business days.  If you choose to visit a third-party vendor for your fingerprints please visit our Third-Party Fingerprint Service webpage.
