Gov. Hickenlooper makes Limited Gaming Control Commission appointment
DENVER, Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 – Gov. Hickenlooper recently appointed Kristen Blessman, of Denver, to the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission. Blessman serves as a First Congressional District member and as a representative who has been engaged in business in a management-level capacity for at least five years, as an Unaffiliated, appointed member. She will serve a four-year term, expiring on July 1, 2022.
“We are thrilled to have someone with Commissioner Blessman’s level of expertise and caliber join the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission,” said Donia Amick, director of the Division of Gaming with the Colorado Department of Revenue. “Commissioner Blessman’s non-profit executive-level experience working with governing boards combined with her skills in building solid strategic plans will greatly benefit the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission. She will bring a unique perspective to the Commission that will help shape the future of the gaming industry in Colorado.”
Blessman is the President and CEO of the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce (CWCC), a Denver-based non-profit, membership organization that provides support and visibility to leaders in the Colorado business community. Prior to her leadership role at CWCC, she served as the chief marketing officer for Goodwill Industries of Denver. Blessman holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado and a Master of Business Administration from Regis University.
The Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission adopts and enforces rules and regulations for the establishment and operation of gambling in the Colorado towns of Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek. The Commission is comprised of five members appointed by the governor and, by law, is made up of members from different professional, political and geographic backgrounds.
