Colorado Department of Revenue Selects New Senior Director of Enforcement
DENVER, CO, October 16, 2018 – The Colorado Department of Revenue (DOR) is pleased to announce the promotion of Cory Amend as the Senior Director of the Enforcement Division. As Senior Director, Mr. Amend will lead and oversee five regulatory divisions consisting of the Auto Industry Division, Division of Gaming, Liquor and Tobacco Enforcement Division, Marijuana Enforcement Division and the Division of Racing Events.
“Based on his exemplary service over the last fourteen months, Cory Amend has been promoted to serve as senior director of the Enforcement Business Group,” said Mike Hartman, DOR executive director. “Cory has the respect of many in the Department and
will provide solid leadership to the Enforcement Division.”
Amend joined the Department of Revenue in 2017, having served previously as the Director of P.O.S.T., the Peace Officers Standards and Training Unit within the Office of the Colorado Attorney General. Prior to his role as P.O.S.T Director, Amend spent 23
years in law enforcement, where he held a variety of position including Patrol Commander and S.W.A.T Commander. Amend received a bachelor's degree from CU Denver, a master's degree in Criminal Justice and has attended the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.
