Building Science Principles (BSP) Certificate of Knowledge
Send Kim Burke an email with your name, phone number, email address, and physical address. Each Friday we will send BPI your contact information to be enrolled under the Colorado program and send out the BPI Rater application to interested parties.
If you currently do not hold an eligible certification, the CEO is offering 100 scholarships to enroll in the Building Science Principles (BSP) Certificate of Knowledge program. To apply send Kim Burke an email with your name, phone number, email address, and physical address. Each Friday we will send BPI the awardees that are granted a scholarship and BPI will email the class materials.
For home buyers that would like to take advantage of the FHA’s or VA’s Energy Efficient Mortgage program, a HERS Index Rating is still required. The Home Energy Scoring Tool can provide an initial look at the home to see if an Energy Efficient Mortgage would beneficial.
A consistent theme in real estate transaction is that brokers need a 3rd party energy rating system that costs less than $200 and be viewed like a radon test. In many parts of Colorado, through the partnership with local programs and the Building Performance Institute (BPI), a home owner will be able to obtain the score for less than $150.
