Join the Howard Fund - Board of Directors
We are currently seeking to fill a vacancy on the Howard Fund board of directors. The position has historically been filled by an individual who is knowledgeable and well connected in the area of blindness education. While this skill set/network is helpful in ensuring we provide appropriate outreach and service to the K-12 community of individuals who are blind or low vision, we are also interested in and open to candidates with working knowledge of blindness/low vision related assistive technology, a strong network of people who are blind/low vision throughout the state with emphasis on rural and under-served areas, a passion for improving the lives of individuals who are blind/low vision, and a heart of service.
The time commitment involved includes a quarterly board meeting that typically lasts 2 hours. These meetings have often been held downtown but can be accessed via conference call. Board members must also commit to reviewing a batch of applications on a monthly basis and responding to a limited amount of Howard Fund related email. Board members may also be asked to contribute their time, talent and treasure to further the mission and reach of the Howard Fund.
