State Controller recognized for CAFR

The State of Colorado has been awarded the 2017 Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the U.S. and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.  The Colorado CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the GFOA program which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story.

“This is a result of magnificent teamwork among all state agencies to clearly, completely, and accurately report on the State of Colorado’s financial status, and this year was no exception,” said State Controller Bob Jaros.
