Record number of participants attend the 2014 Advance Colorado Procurement Expo

Kathy Nesbitt, Executive Director of the Department of Personnel & Administration, and Olivia Mendoza, Director of the Monority Business Office in the Office of Economic Development and International Trade cut the ribbon marking the opening of the 2014 Advance Colorado Procurement Expo.

The Colorado State Purchasing Office in the Department of Personnel & Administration (DPA) and the Minority Business Office in the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) together hosted the fifth annual Advance Colorado Procurement Expo on Jan. 22, 2014. The sold out venue showcased 55 exhibitors who were either public procurement professionals or sellers of mostly goods and services. 

There was no cost for businesses to attend the expo. Teh full day event included free workshops to help attendees best understand how to do busienss with state and local government entities. The ACCESSColorado workshop had more than 120 attendees indicating the interest businesses have to work with the State.

Event sponsors and advertisers made it possible to publish an Expo Directory for the first time. More than 500 people (sponsors, exhibitors and attendees) made this a successful day in Colorado procurement!
