Nesbitt named Vice President of NASCA

Denver – Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 -- State Personnel Director, Kathy Nesbitt, was named Vice President of the National Association of State Chief Administrators (NASCA) Executive Committee for the 2014 – 2015 program year.  Nesbitt will serve on the committee along with leaders from Wisconsin, Missouri and Pennsylvania.

Gov. John Hickenlooper appointed Nesbitt to her position in 2011. Her career as a labor and employment attorney and extensive experience in human resources made her uniquely qualified to create and administer the rules that govern the state’s 33,000-plus classified employees, as well as their compensation and benefits.

Nesbitt’s achievements include spearheading an update to the State’s 92-year old personnel system, helping pass legislation to create a merit pay system, launching an employee wellness program and creating a new statewide employee orientation program.  Nesbitt also has been recognized for her efforts as an influential government leader in Governing Magazine and by the National Association of State Personnel Executives.
