For each three-year license cycle, all active real estate brokers must complete 24 hours of continuing education.
If your license has been inactive for longer than three (3) years/36 months, you MUST complete either:
As prescribed by SB17-215 (Concerning the Continuation Under the Sunset Law of the Division of Real Estate) and Real Estate Commission Rules B and D, a real estate broker license will now be renewed on or before December 31 of every third (3rd) year after issuance. All licensees will eventually be on a calendar year cycle for their license renewal. In order to accommodate this transition to a calendar year cycle, the Division of Real Estate has established a transition period for license renewals and reinstatement, which will affect a licensee’s continuing education requirements.
As a result of this transition period, licensees may satisfy the mandatory twelve (12) hours of Annual Commission Update classes in order to fulfill their continuing education requirement during their licensing cycle as follows:
Licensees who choose these options must complete an additional 12 hours of elective credit hours to meet the 24-hour total continuing education requirement during the license cycle.

Each year the Commission develops a four (4) hour Annual Commission Update Course that covers important information about recent regulatory changes and practice issues.
Annual Commission Update courses are mandatory. Once the course year has passed, that version cannot be made up. In this case, you will need to investigate alternative ways to meet the continuing education requirements. The options include:
