State Board of Nursing summarily suspends Larimer County CNA
DENVER (March 30, 2017) –- The State Board of Nursing has issued a summary suspension for Certified Nurse Aide Shannon K. McLean following her arrest last week in Larimer County on multiple drug charges.
McLean was charged in Larimer County District Court on March 6 with three counts of distributing a controlled substance, namely heroin, one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. he was subsequently arrested four days later, and after posting bond, was arrested again March 22 for failure to appear in court.
The Board, acting upon that arrest information, enacted and signed the summary suspension on March 23.
McLean had been charged with criminal possession of another’s identity as well as four theft charges earlier in 2017.
McLean was certified to practice as a nurse aide in Colorado since April 3, 2012.
She must cease, desist and refrain from practicing in the state under the ruling after an investigation found deliberate and willful violations of the Nurse Aide Practice Act and/or emergency action was deemed necessary in order to protect the public’s health, safety or welfare.
