DENVER (April. 6, 2017) – The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is holding its Spring National Meeting in Denver this weekend. The Colorado Division of Insurance (DOI), part of the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), will serve as host for the conference.
The convention will feature more than 100 meetings by regulatory committees, task forces and working groups to share information and make decisions. State insurance departments from around the country convene to discuss regulatory priorities and changes in the marketplace.
Gov. John Hickenlooper is scheduled to welcome regulators, industry representatives and interested parties during the NAIC’s opening session on Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Denver. He will be introduced by Colorado Insurance Commissioner Marguerite Salazar.
“For more than 145 years, state regulators have worked on behalf of consumer protection and market stability,” Commissioner Salazar said. “We are pleased to host this national meeting in the beautiful city of Denver, where we hope our members will be able to enjoy the beauty of springtime in the Rockies.”
