DORA Executive Director statement on Supreme Court decision concerning LGBTQ employment rights
DENVER — Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Executive Director Patty Salazar has made the following statement in response to today's Supreme Court decision. DORA houses the Colorado Civil Rights Division, which is charged with enforcing the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act, known as "CADA."
"While the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA) upholds the right to a discrimination-free workplace in our state regardless of this ruling, today we know that the highest court in the land also acknowledges the right of LGBTQ individuals throughout the country to work, build careers, and support themselves without facing discrimination because of who they are or who they love. We still have a long way to go, but today is another positive step toward ensuring equal rights under the law for all."
More information about the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act can be found on the Colorado Civil Rights Division page.
