Colorado Civil Rights Division statement on today’s unanimous Court of Appeals Ruling on public accommodations case

DENVER - (Aug. 13, 2015) - Rufina Hernández, Director of the Colorado Civil Rights Division, part of the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), issued the following statement regarding today’s Colorado Court of Appeals ruling on the Charlie Craig and David Mullins v. Masterpiece Cakeshop, Inc. case.

“The Colorado Civil Rights Division is pleased that the Court of Appeals unanimously upheld the Colorado Civil Rights Commission ruling that found discrimination against an LGBT couple for refusing to provide services that were otherwise available to the entire public. The Colorado Civil Rights Division is here to serve all Colorado residents to address concerns of discrimination in the areas of housing, employment and public accommodations.”
