Consumer Rights and Responsibilities During a Real Estate Transaction
Most people will be involved in very few real estate transactions in their lifetime. The real estate transaction process is complex and cumbersome at times. Those in the public who do not participate in the real estate transaction process on a regular basis might themselves ill-informed of the many details involved when making a purchase or selling of real estate.
The Division of Real Estate, (Division) understands that purchasing a home is likely the most costly transaction consumers will experience in their lifetime. The Division is in the process of developing a series of webinars to help consumers navigate the real estate transaction process and understand their rights and responsibilities. The webinar will provide clarity on:
The steps of a basic real estate transaction,
what is expected of the buyer and seller in a transaction,
what is expected of the real estate broker,
what is expected of the other common parties involved in your real estate transaction; and
other important transactional components of the real estate transaction process.
