Denver massage therapist relinquishes license due to engagement in a sexual act with a client
DENVER (April 12, 2016) — On April 11, 2016, Denver massage therapist Hui F. White relinquished her license to practice massage therapy, meaning she may not practice.
Hui worked as a massage therapist at the Red Lotus Spa in Denver. On November 19, 2015, while giving a massage to a client, Hui “began to perform manual masturbation on the client” according to the disciplinary document. The client was “an undercover Denver Police Officer conducting a sting operation.”
It is unlawful for massage therapists to engage in a sexual act with a client while the therapeutic relationship exists. According to the Massage Therapy Practice Act, the state law that governs the practice, massage therapists must also meet generally accepted standards of massage therapy care or be subject to discipline, including revocation of a license.
