Colorado administers the National Council of Examiners For Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) examinations.
Principles and Practice of Engineering Examination Disciplines Offered
Applications are retained by the Board for a period of two years commencing with the original date of Board approval. If you do not take your exam within that two-year period, your application and supporting documents will be purged from the Board files. It is then necessary that you apply with a new application and fees. However, each time you take and fail an exam your application is automatically renewed for another two years.
April exams are offered in Denver and Durango. October exams are offered in Denver and Grand Junction.
State Specific PLS Exam

The State Specific PLS Exam Candidate Handbook contains a Test Outline & Study Guidance with links to study and reference resources.
NCEES Examinee Guide
The NCEES Examinee Guide is the official guide to policies and procedures for all NCEES exams. All examinees are required to read this document before starting the exam registration process. It is the examinee’s responsibility to make sure he or she has the current version. NCEES exams are administered in either a computer-based format or a pencil-and-paper format. Each method of administration has specific rules; the guide describes the rules for each exam format. Refer to the appropriate section for your exam. View the NCEES Examinee Guide.
Beginning with the October 2013 exam administration, NCEES no longer provides pass/fail letters to examinees. Examinees are notified when their results are available, along with instructions on how to log into their My NCEES account.
