Denver, CO – Wednesday, October 14, 2015 – The Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) today announced the reappointment of JoAnn Groff as Colorado’s Property Tax Administrator. In that capacity she will continue as the director of the Division of Property Taxation in DOLA, and work closely with County Assessors, the General Assembly and other elected officials, various industry groups interested in property taxation, and owners of property located in Colorado.
“The unanimous decision of the State Board of Equalization is clear evidence of the quality of JoAnn’s work and more importantly, the trust they have in her” said Irv Halter, DOLA executive director. “I share that trust and am pleased to have her remain as the Director of Property Taxation.”
Groff has been working in state government for 17 years. Prior to becoming Property Tax Administrator, she spent 13 years as the president of the Colorado Retail Council, a not-for-profit membership based trade association for retailers doing business in Colorado.
"I am thrilled that the State Board of Equalization has the confidence in me to allow me to continue as the state's Property Tax Administrator” said Groff. “It is such an honor and privilege to serve the people of the state of Colorado in this capacity."
This is Groff’s third term as Property Tax Administrator. Her reappointment is effective January 1, 2016.
