Climate Planning in Colorado
As Colorado continues to warm, strategic and collaborative climate planning will be essential to build community resilience. Each community plays an important role in taking action to mitigate or adapt to impacts that a warming climate will have on the health of its citizens, the natural and built environment, and economy. This webinar will focus on how local governments and communities can reduce their risk and vulnerability to the impacts of climate change through effective climate planning.
The webinar will highlight tips and strategies for developing an integrated local climate plan, including, how to engage with planners and elected officials, assessing vulnerability and risk, key data and resources to use, and establishing baseline data and metrics. Finally, Fort Collins will discuss their award-winning Climate Action Plan and how to successfully develop and implement measures and planning actions identified to reduce vulnerability. Fort Collins will also discuss how the Climate Action Plan will be integrated into their upcoming comprehensive plan update.
