Translator Request for Individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will arrange for a qualified American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter when requested by a deaf or hard of hearing person, at no cost to the customer. The DMV encourages a 72 hour advance notice, but a minimum of 48 hours advance notice is needed for any appointment. No drive or written tests can be scheduled after 4 p.m. Interpreters are not allowed to ride with customers taking a drive test.
