COUNTY OFFICES

Adams County motor vehicle offices are closed until further notice

  • Please note that you cannot register motor vehicles in a different county. Adams County does participate in the self-service kiosk program. You can use kiosks for renewals.
  • Visit their website for information on submitting your registration by mail.
  • Phones will be staffed daily from 8 a.m.. - 1 p.m.. by calling 720-523-6010 

Alamosa County motor vehicles office is closed

  • Most services are available online at https://mydmv.colorado.gov. County representatives are available via phone
  • Please note that you cannot register motor vehicles in a different county. 

Arapahoe County motor vehicle offices below are effective April 27

  •  Aurora office is open for appointments
  • Arapahoe County phone lines will be open to the public from 8:00am to 12:00pm for Motor Vehicle on all weekdays until further notice. The phone number is 303-795-4500.
  • Littleton Office is open for appointments only
  • Centennial Office will be opening by appointment only on May 26
  • Appointments can only be scheduled online at: http://www.arapahoegov.com/dmv
  • Arapahoe County motor vehicle staff will be processing back-office work only (still no customer-facing operations) on all weekdays going forward until further notice.
  • Please note that you cannot register motor vehicles in a different county. Arapahoe County does participate in the self-service kiosk program. You can use kiosks for renewals.

Archuleta County motor vehicle offices are accepting appointments

Broomfield County motor vehicle offices are open by appointment only

Boulder County motor vehicle offices currently closed

  • Staff in office to assist members of the public via phone, email and mail. 
  • Information line is now open, 303.413.7710, or people can email us at motorvehicle@bouldercounty.org
  • Please note that you cannot register motor vehicles in a different county. Boulder County does participate in the self-service kiosk program.

Chaffee County motor vehicle is closed

Cheyenne County 

  • Open by appointment to county residents only

Clear Creek County motor vehicle is closed through May 3, a limited reopening on May 4

  • Hours will be 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
  • Services will be limited, we will only allow 10 people in the building at a time

Custer County

Denver County motor vehicle offices reopened on June 29.

Delta  County motor Vehicle is open

  • Delta County is open to the public, but will be screening paperwork in the lobby area prior to letting the public into the office.  Also will be limiting the number of customers in the office at any given time. Customers can still renew online at mydmv.colorado.gov, through the mail or they can leave the renewal notice & payment in the ballot box on the front step of the courthouse or the one in front of the North Fork Annex office. Customers can call 970-874-2150 with any questions.  

Dolores County motor vehicle is closed

  • Most services are available online at https://mydmv.colorado.gov
  • Closed on Friday's

Douglas County 

  • Providing services online, by phone, mail, self-service kiosk, and paperwork drop box. Details here: DouglasDrives.com
    • Our office will contact you after your paperwork is evaluated to gather additional information, collect payment, or schedule an in-person appointment if necessary
  • Driver License Office will open for appointments in June (date TBD)

Eagle County motor vehicle offices are open see below schedule

  • Currently open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Closed on Wednesdays.
  • Please note that you cannot register motor vehicles in a different county.

Elbert County motor vehicle offices are closed ( View their media release)

  • As of July 27th, the lobby is open by appointment only. All services will still be available through the Drive Thru
  • Most services are available online at https://mydmv.colorado.gov, will be providing drive through for renewals only

El Paso County El Paso County has 3 of its 5 Motor Vehicle branch offices open for appointments only.

  • Appointments can be made online at www.epcdrives.com for the following locations:

    • North – Union Town Center Branch located at 8830 N Union Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80920

Fremont County motor vehicle office is  open to the public

  • Does not handle driver’s license transactions only license plates and titles
  • Open Monday – Thursday 7am to 5pm

Garfield County is open

  • Glenwood Springs is assisting customers by mail, email, phone, drop-box, and is accepting appointments, customers will need to contact  Garfield county for an appointment.  
  • Rifle is currently conducting transactions via phone, email, or drop box and will add in person appointments soon.
  • Appointments are for private party sales, customers needing to register their out of state vehicle, bonds and other special title needs, and newly issued disability placards.  The offices are not doing any in-person renewal transactions or new purchases when the customer has received a title complete notice.

Gilpin County offices, including motor vehicle offices, are closed through May 11

  • Gilpin is continuing to process MV transactions by appointment, phone and email. 
  • Please note that you cannot register motor vehicles in a different county. Gilpin County does participate in the self-service kiosk program. You can use kiosks for renewals.

Grand County motor vehicle offices are open as below

Grand County Motor Vehicle Services:

  • .Processing titles through the mail
  • People drop off title work at our office (the Grand County Admin Building is open)
  • All in-person title work is by appointment only (Appointments are currently made by phone at 970-725-3063.  An online appointment services should be up shortly.)
  • Renewals can be processed through the mail, over the phone, in person (at our outside walk-up window), on-line, or at kiosk in any county in Colorado (none in our county)

Grand County Driver License Services are all by appointment by phone at 970-725-3063.

  • Drive skills tests (very limited hours)
  • Permits
  • Out of state transfers
  • Renewals

The Hinsdale County Courthouse will be open to the public starting on Monday April 27th.

Huerfano County- Currently accepting by appointment and walk up only

Jackson County motor vehicle is closed

Jefferson County motor vehicle offices are open

  • Started to take walk in customers from 7:30a-11:30a Monday – Thursday at our Lakewood, Evergreen, Littleton, and Arvada locations.
  • Remain appointment-only all other hours and at Golden.
  • Renewals and Dealers are still unable to make an appointment or walk-in.
    • Exceptions made for renewals if insurance is not loading online or if they are enrolled in ACP
  • Please note that you cannot register motor vehicles in a different county. Jefferson County does participate in the self-service kiosk program.

Kit Carson County motor vehicle offices are reopening the courthouse on Monday,  April 27

  • Scheduling appointments for all services. To lessen the impact on Driver License, Kit Carson County are planning on country residents or eastern region at this time.  
  • Staff will be providing limited essential services by appointment or via phone 719-346-8638 ext 301 and https://mydmv.colorado.gov

Kiowa County- Open by appointment only

  • Open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then by appointment only.
  • Most services are available online at https://mydmv.colorado.gov.

Lake County motor vehicle office is closed 

  • Working mail-in and fielding calls from 8-12, online services are available.

La Plata County  motor vehicle office are open as below

  • Durango is open
  • Bayfield is closed
  • Please note that you cannot register motor vehicles in a different county. La Plata County does participate in the self-service kiosk program. You can use kiosks for renewals.

Larimer County 

  • Effective March 18th Larimer County Clerk & Recorder offices will provide limited in-person access for the public: -Vehicle Licensing, appts. are required.

Lincoln County motor vehicle offices are now open

  • Hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • One person at a time will be allowed in the office
  • No Driver License services until June 1

Logan County Motor Vehicle will be opening to the public for essential transactions staring May 4, 2020. 

  • Titles and initial registrations
  • Renewals will be done via mail – drop box- on the phone or mydmv.colorado.gov
  • Direct people to  still use drop box and mail instead of doing face to face

Mesa County motor vehicle is open effective May 4

  • Phase 1: Main Office - Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM; Clifton and Fruita offices will remain closed until Phases 2 and 3; 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM will be reserved solely for customers from our vulnerable population.
  • Most services are available online at https://mydmv.colorado.gov. County representatives are available via phone and dropbox 
  • Mesa County does participate in the self-service kiosk program. You can use kiosks for renewals.

Montezuma County motor vehicle is closed

  • Open under a modified opening, using appointments Still utilizing 24/7 drop box, on-line and mail for most transactions. Open to business with limited customers and required Public Health restrictions / some appointment times if required.

  • Please note that you cannot register motor vehicles in a different county. Montezuma County does not participate in the self-service kiosk program.

Montrose County motor vehicle is open with the below hours 

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
    8:30 am to 4:30 pm
    Wednesday
    8:30 am to 3:00 pm
  • "high risk" appointments at 8am on Wednesdays and Fridays
  • Montrose residents can complete transactions online or by calling 970-252-3362
  • Please note that you cannot register motor vehicles in a different county. 

Morgan County Motor Vehicle is closed through June 1

  •  Morgan County is providing essential services remotely, via telephone, drop box, mail and mydmv.colorado.gov
  • Will begin accepting appointments for emergency situations May 18th
  • Are set to reopen with limited number of citizens in our building on June 1st, 2020.
Moffat County is open from 8-4
  • All renewals will be processed by mail, over the internet, by phone with our staff, or we have a drop off box that they can leave them. Renewals will then be mailed. 

Otero County- Is currently open by appointment only

Ouray County motor vehicle is closed effective March 18

  • Ouray county residents can complete transactions online or by calling (970) 325-4961 and mailing address (PO Box C, Ouray CO 81427)

Park County

  • Take appointments when we can for title paperwork. Still use drop box for renewal.
  • Most services are available online at https://mydmv.colorado.gov

Pitkin County motor vehicle is closed effective March 18

  • Most services are available online at https://mydmv.colorado.gov
  • Pitkin County Motor Vehicle, Recording, and Elections Departments will continue to serve the public by processing online services and documents received through the mail or dropped in the Pitkin County drop box located at 530 E. Main Street, Aspen

Prowers County motor vehicles will open Monday May 4

  • Opening to customers by appointment title & permit transactions only starting Monday, May 4th

Phillips County 

  • Will not be conducting drive tests until April 6

Pueblo County motor vehicle is closed effective March 18

Rio Blanco County is currently closed

  • Limiting customers to 1 at a time for each member of the staff.

Rio Grande

  • The Rio Grande County Clerk's office is now open to the public with the only restriction of 4 customers in the office at a time.

Routt County

Saguache County - Reopening Monday April 27, 2020

Saguache County will open to the public beginning Monday, April 27, 2020.  Only one person will be allowed in the office at one time and they must wear a mask and gloves.  Persons coming to the office will be screened.  This will be by appointment only. 

San Miguel motor vehicle is closed 

  • As of March 16, 2020 San Miguel County is restricting all in person traffic as well as all paper mail or paper from outside sources until at least 3/20/2020. 

San Juan County motor vehicle is closed

Sedgwick County motor vehicle is open to county residents by appointment only

  • Most services are available online at https://mydmv.colorado.gov
  • Please note that you cannot register motor vehicles in a different county.

Summit County motor vehicle offices are closed indefinitely

  • Please note that you cannot register motor vehicles in a different county. Summit County does not participate in the self-service kiosk program. 
  • Summit County is providing a letter for individuals to keep in their vehicle until they reopen and resume motor vehicle registrations.

Washington County motor vehicle is open by appointment only

Weld County motor vehicle is closed through May 1, soft reopening on May 4

Yuma County

  • Yuma County will start a soft opening on Monday April 27.  One point of entry, screenings, one customer by appointment only, masks required, disinfecting after customer is in office.
  • We will continue to conduct transactions remotely and by appointment only for a few more weeks and then will reevaluate the situation
