School Access for Emergency Response Grant Application and Guidance Publication Due December 3, 2018
The Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is happy to announce the availability of funds through the School Access For Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant Program created by the Colorado State Legislature's SB18-158. The SAFER Program provides funding for interoperable communication hardware, software, equipment maintenance, and training to allow for seamless communications between existing school communications systems and first responder communications systems.
Application and Review Process
All eligible applications received by the due date of December 3rd, 2018 will be reviewed by the Grant Selection Committee (GSC). GSC members will review submitted applications each week throughout the application period (October 15 - December 3, 2018) to stay on track with the time table put forth in the legislation, so please submit your application as soon as possible. Please see the application for complete instructions on submitting your application.
DHSEM-SER will hold two technical assistance calls to allow applicants to ask questions and get help with their applications. They will be held on October 18, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. and October 25, 2018 at 1 p.m. Attendance is not required, you will receive invitations to the calls shortly. Please feel free to forward this email and the technical assistance call invitations to whomever in your organization will be responsible for applying.
