Community Awareness Program

Program Overview

The Community Awareness Program™ (CAP) empowers citizens to help play a role in enhancing our community’s safety. The CAP is a free, interactive course taught by members of the public safety community. Staff within the Community Preparedness Program can provide this training to community groups.  It provides citizens with the basic tools needed to recognize and help prevent criminal activity and terrorism in the Unites States while preserving civil liberties protected by the U.S. Constitution. This training was developed by the Counterterrorism Education and Learning Lab (The C.E.L.L). For more information about CAP visit the CELL website.
