Defensive Driving in the State of Colorado
Employee Safety Services is partnered with the National Safety Council to provide Defensive Driving to state employees. We have two different options to offer to your agency at no cost.
DDC 4: Provides key understanding, skills and techniques to avoid collisions, reduce traffic violations and change driver behaviors and attitudes. This 4-hour instructor-led classroom course is available to all state employees. Participants will acquire the basic knowledge and techniques to recognize potential hazards and avoid collisions and violation. The course will motivate them to change their behind-the-wheel behaviors and attitudes. Students will learn coping techniques for dealing with speeding, distracted driving, impaired driving, and hazardous traffic conditions and more. The result will be a more responsible driver who understands best practices to prevent injury and death while driving a motor vehicle.
DDC Online Abridged: DDC Online Abridged takes approximately 2 hours to complete and can be done at your own pace with the convenient “bookmark” feature. DDC Online Abridged contains the primary learning points from our classroom defensive driving course with the convenience of learning at your own desk.
If you are interested in either of these courses please reach out to Employee Safety Services at DPA_Safety@state.co.us or 303-866-2200.
