The Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) Cañon City Helitack crew conducted the first-ever night helicopter operations training in Colorado, near the Brush Hollow Reservoir earlier this summer. Several simulations were conducted to test pilot proficiency and efficacy of operations. 

The crew will be conducting another night operations training this week, on Wednesday, July 31st at the Fremont County Airport. Media is invited to attend.

The briefing will begin at the Cañon Helibase at 2000 hrs and actual night time flying will begin at the Brush Hollow reservoir at approximately 2200 hrs.  The crew is planning on spending no more than 2 hrs of actual flight time for the training.
