ACP Application Assistant Information

An Application Assistant is a person who provides counseling, referral or other direct services to victims of stalking, sexual assault and/or domestic violence, and has completed the Address Confidentiality Program training and registration process. Application Assistants meet with potential program participants and make program referrals. Application Assistants determine whether an applicant is eligible for program services and if the Address Confidentiality Program services should be part of an applicant’s overall safety plan.

Are You Interested in Becoming an Application Assistant?
Do you provide counseling, referral, or other direct services to victims of stalking, sexual assault and/or domestic violence? Do you typically assist with safety planning? If you answered “yes” to both questions, you are eligible to apply for an Application Assistant designation. Obtaining the designation is a two-part process:

  1. Complete an online or in person Application Assistant training.
       a.  The online training is free and takes about one hour to complete. Please follow these instructions to complete the online training.
       b.  An in-person Application Assistant training can be scheduled by contacting the ACP Outreach and Training Coordinator at (303) 866-3343 or the ACP at (303) 866-2208. In-person trainings are free and take about an hour and a half to complete.

  2. Complete and return an Application Assistant Agreement. The Agreement can be faxed, emailed or mailed to the ACP. After we receive the Agreement, the ACP can assign your designation number and provide you with program applications and materials. Applications are available in English and Spanish.

Are You a Current Application Assistant?

Do you need additional program applications or other program materials?
If you are a current Application Assistant and are in need of additional applications or other program materials, please contact the ACP Outreach and Training Coordinator at (303) 866-3343 or the ACP at (303) 866-2208. You can also request materials by emailing the program at acp@state.co.us

Do you need to renew your Application Assistant Designation?
Your designation is good for a two-year term. You can renew your designation for another two year term by completing and submitting a new Application Assistant Agreement.

Did you change employment?
You can transfer your designation to a new employer as long as you are still providing counseling, referral, or other direct services to victims of stalking, sexual assault and/or domestic violence, and you complete and submit an updated Application Assistant Agreement.

Do you need to review the application process?
The ACP Outreach and Training Coordinator, or any of the other ACP staff will gladly review the application process with you, or go over the application with you prior to your meeting with an applicant. The Application Assistant Quick Guide also provides a quick overview of the application process.
