CWDC Joins in Governor’s Coaching Corps Wrap-up, Looking for Next Class
July 23, 2018 - On June 28, the inaugural cohort of the Governor’s Coaching Corps wrapped up its year with presentations from each of the Action Teams. CWDC Director Lee Wheeler-Berliner joined other state leaders as a panelist to hear from the Action Teams.
Each small group of coaches analyzed a specific issue and developed recommendations for how our state could shift activities or policies to solve that issue. The groups looked at topics ranging from technology and data systems, to coaching individuals with disabilities, to cultivating partnerships. It was exciting to hear the recommendations and witness the passion that our job coaches throughout the state bring to this work.
If you have a coach in your organization interested in joining the second cohort of the Governor’s Coaching Corps, now is the time to apply. The Governor’s Coaching Corps is an intensive, eight-month professional development program for Colorado career coaches.
Colorado coaches who are accepted into the program will:
- Build their coaching skills
- Leverage new tools to better serve job seekers
- Work in action teams with coaches from across the state to come up with best practices to better serve job seekers and recommend new policies to state policymakers for potential adoption.
Please let the career coaches in your network know about this opportunity. Coaches can apply here.
