Pueblo & Ft Morgan School Safety Summits will Address Cyberbullying, Tackle Local Issues
(Dec. 3, 2018) Experts from the Colorado School Safety Resource Center will lead workshops, focus groups and educational forums on critical school safety topics during Student and Staff Safety Summits in Fort Morgan and Pueblo on Dec. 11 and 13.
Each one-day event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Sameer Hinduja, Co-Director of the Cyberbullying Research Center in Florida. Afterwards, students and school staff will break off into workshop sessions to discuss the specific safety concerns that they are encountering at their respective schools.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Sameer Hinduja, Ph.D. is a Professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida Atlantic University and Co-Director of the Cyberbullying Research Center. He is recognized internationally for his groundbreaking work on the subjects of cyberbullying and safe social media use, concerns that have paralleled the exponential growth in online communication by young people. Dr. Hinduja has written seven books, and his interdisciplinary research is widely published and cited in a number of peer-reviewed academic journals. As a noted speaker and expert on teens and social media use, Dr. Hinduja also trains students, educators, parents, mental health professionals, and other youth workers how to promote the positive use of technology.
