COLORADO OPEN RECORDS ACT Request

The Colorado State Patrol is committed to transparency and open government, and complies with the requirements of the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA), § 24-72-201 to 206, C.R.S. Records requests should be directed to the department’s Central Records Unit, CORA liaison 700 Kipling Street  |  Lakewood, CO 80215. The Department shall accept only records requests made in writing or electronically via e-mail.

Public records include all writings made, maintained, or kept by the CSP regardless of physical form or characteristic. 

Extenuating circumstances may result in an extension of seven business days at the end of the initial three-day period, in which instance you will be notified in advance. In some cases, there are no records that satisfy your request. Public records maintained by the CSP and disclosable under the CORA will be made available upon request and receipt of any required charges.
