Public Notice from Costilla County Planning and Zoning_11-19-19

 

On October 9th, 2019, the Costilla County Planning Commission held a public hearing to discuss a new proposed Fee Schedule for development and land use permits in Costilla County.  As compared to adjacent counties and other comparable sized counties in Colorado, Costilla County’s fees are very inexpensive.  The fee schedule currently used had not been adjusted since May of 2013.

In understanding that these fees will need to cover future inspection and processing costs, and eventual rising costs of new infrastructure in the county, it was necessary to create an updated fee schedule.  The Costilla County Board of Commissioners met on November 19th to review the Planning Commission’s suggested fee schedule, and approved the following fees:

These fees are effective immediately.  Please understand that ALL new development in Costilla County, regardless of location or zoning, require permits.  Failure to obtain these permits will result in violations.
