Recorder's Notes by Pamela Bacon, Logan County Clerk and Recorder

Thank you to all the Election Judges that worked before, during and after the November 5, 2019 Coordinated Election.  Your hard work and dedication made the election process go smoothly in Logan County and is appreciated more than you will ever know!  The Logan County Clerk’s Office could not do all that we need to get done without all of you.

CDHS Employees Donate Items to Ute Mountain Ute Domestic Violence Program

UMUT DVP Brochure page 1.PNGViolence against indigenous women has reached unprecedented levels on tribal lands and in Alaska Native villages across the US. More than 4 in 5 American Indian and Alaska Native women have experienced violence, and more than 1 in 2 have experienced sexual violence. Native children exposed to violence suffer rates of PTSD three times higher than the rest of the general population. The Ute Mountain Ute Social Services Domestic Violence Program is located on the Ute Mountain Ute reservation and provides healthy relationship courses, support groups, resources and referrals, and advocacy and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence.

Colorado statewide snowpack is at 172% of average as of November 4

With over 15 inches of snow at the Stapleton Airport weather observation site last week, the month of October ended unusually frigid and snowy. Temps were below freezing for more than 100 consecutive hours last week. That streak finally ended on Thursday morning, when temperatures climbed back into the low 40s, just in time to make it possible for kids to trick or treat this Halloween.
