Central City is developing a Disaster Resiliency Plan to help protect our citizens, visitors and infrastructure and to plan for such an emergency event. The plan will address potential for damage to infrastructure, access issues, equipment shortages, alternative transportation routes, and community communications needs. The importance of this plan was highlighted by the area floods of 2013 and later hillside collapse along the Central City Parkway that isolated the community. This project is funded through of a grant awarded the City by DOLA. Various possible disaster scenarios will also be evaluated as part of this process and input for key stakeholder is important for the success of this resiliency plan. The project is slated to start in November 2016 and end in April 2017. The final report will be rolled into the City Comprehensive Plan to guide the City well into the future.

As part of this project, the City is conducting a Business Preparedness and Recovery Workshop. All local businesses are invited to attend.
