Fish are a healthy source of protein that are low in saturated fat and high in omega-3 fatty acids. Eating fish can be good for heart health and children’s growth and development. However, most fish contain traces of mercury. This represents a health risk that must be balanced with the benefits of fish consumption, especially for unborn and developing children.
For fish not included on the advisory please see the general guidelines.
