2014 NSB Annual Report
Since 2012 the Colorado WIC Program analyzes its USDA WIC Participant and Program Characteristics (PC) file to assess the point prevalence of overweight and obese children ages 2 through 4 years. This analysis of the WIC PC file includes all actively enrolled participants in the WIC database during the month of April for each year. For more information, refer to the corresponding description for each year’s data report.
Pediatric Nutrition Surveillance System (PedNSS) data
Through 2011 the Colorado WIC Program submitted monthly participant data to the CDC PedNSS data set. The CDC compiled the data into annual reports (see table below). The reports describe various indicators, such as racial, ethnic, and age distributions, child growth, anemia, breastfeeding, television viewing, smoking in household and more.
*If you use these numbers or tables for publications be sure to document and reference CDC Pediatric Nutrition Surveillance.
Pregnancy Nutrition Surveillance System (PNSS)
The Colorado WIC Program doesn't participate in the CDC PNSS. You may access national PNSS information on the CDC's website.
