Reporting threshold for lead and lead compounds

In January 2001, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued a final rule under section 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA), which lowered the Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reporting thresholds for lead and lead compounds.

The first reports under this new rule were due July 1, 2002 for the 2001 reporting year. The rule is part of EPA's effort to expand the public's right to know about toxic chemicals  particularly persistent, bioaccumulative toxic (PBT) chemicals in their communities.
