Providers of emergency medical and trauma care must be able to communicate with one another to maximize their efforts. Communications in the Emergency Medical and Trauma Services (EMTS) system include:
- Access to the system through 911 services.
- Pre-arrival instructions to callers.
- Dispatch of prehospital services.
- Communications with physicians for online medical control and notification of patients being transported to facilities.
