Public health lab podcast

Are you puzzled about public health labs? Our own Dr. Emily Travanty, scientific director at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Laboratory Services Division, recognizes the need for public labs to communicate the services they provide. Dr. Travanty is a member of the Emerging Leader Program with the Association of Public Health Laboratories. As part of its ongoing efforts, the Emerging Leader Program is working to get the word out about the services local labs provide for Coloradans.

That effort sparked the creation of a “Lab Culture” podcast. The series began April 25 with “Public health labs do that?!” If you listen to the episode, you will learn about an outbreak involving flour, Colorado and raw cookie dough.

Dr. Travanty is a featured guest. You can find the podcast on iTunes, Stitcher and other podcast platforms by searching for “Lab Culture.”
