Manitou Springs School District serves approximately 1450 students from pre-kindergarten to grade 12 who reside in the communities of Manitou Springs, Cascade, Green Mountain Falls, Chipita Park and Cedar Heights.
  • Energy Reduction.
  • Avoided Green house gas emissions.
  • Recycle all paper.
  • Works with local food shelters to provide food that otherwise would have been thrown away.
  • Students at Manitou Springs Elementary School grow vegetables and raise chickens for eggs.
  • Won the top state health and wellness award.
  • Embraces the phrase “It takes a village to raise a child”. With that philosophy the districts Partners for Healthy Choices strives to promote the “Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child” model for all district schools and community in supporting healthy choices for life.
  • Hosted Bike or walk to School Day, an annual event, promoting cycling or walking as a healthy, safe, & environmentally friendly alternative to driving.
  • Recycles all electronic waste, and organize local recycling events. 
  • Students run environmental group, make sure it’s easy for students and staff to recycle all materials with “green” wast baskets placed around the district.
  • Reduced water usage through the installation of new flow meters.
