ELP Gold Leader - Management & Engineering Services
Member since 2002
For over 25 years, Management and Engineering Services, LLC (MES) has worked with hundreds of clients across the United States to help them develop, implement and maintain environmentally sustainable practices in their day-to-day operations. Our client services range from the development of conservation strategies to the monitoring, documentation and reporting of performance using our custom, computer-based management systems. All MES applications are dedicated to helping our clients comply with international standards for health, safety and the preservation of environmental resources.
When it comes to environmental leadership, however, Management and Engineering Services does more than just "talk the talk." Through a series of initiatives, we have invested heavily in reducing our own energy consumption. MES has installed automated lighting controls and replaced all fluorescent, incandescent, and compact-fluorescent lighting with LED systems. In addition, we have implemented remote monitoring of our air handling systems, installed a Level II electric-vehicle charging station, established a composting program, sponsored zero-waste meetings, and executed a Xeriscape design to conserve water. A point of pride for all our employees, MES has achieved a carbon-neutral rating through the use of renewable energy certificates.
In 2018, MES will complete certification of its own in-house operations in five separate management areas - ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental), ISO 45001 (Safety), ISO 50001 (Energy), ISO 14046 (Water), and ISO 9001 (Quality). Through our own commitment, and that of our clients, MES has been able to demonstrate that these management systems truly do bring significant value to any organization, large or small.
While many of our clients are located outside of Colorado, for years Management and Engineering Services has shared its experience with Colorado-based companies through the MES Mentoring Program. This program is dedicated to the goal of helping smaller companies implement standards-based management systems so that they, too, can realize the benefits of sustainable operations.
