The Colorado Army National Guard is nearly 3600 Soldiers strong and growing all the time. The units in the state vary from the most modern, cutting-edge high-tech units such as Space Support to classic, hardcore, hard-charging Special Forces, Artillery and Infantry. The bulk of the units are along the Front Range but our armories in the outlying smaller towns in Colorado are where true community based interaction takes place. In addition to the Soldiers, there are approximately one hundred State employees of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA). The mission of the Colorado National Guard is to provide its communities, state and nation a ready, reliable, essential and accessible military force, fully equipped for national defense and support to civil authorities by providing our communities, state, and nation a ready military force for national defense and state emergency response.
  • Reduced industrial landscaping water usage by implementing a state-wide xeriscape program at high priority facilities.
  • Establish a parallel operation between the existing photovoltaic (PV) system and diesel emergency generator at the Windosr Readiness Center to decrease fuel consumption and emissions during extended power outages and avoid “wet stacking” over prolonged outages.
