Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) data

Statewide population-based surveillance

Colorado conducts statewide, active population- and laboratory-based surveillance for Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA). In the five-county Denver metropolitan area (Adams, Arapahoe, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson counties), Colorado conducts surveillance for CRE, CRPA and Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) through CDC’s Emerging Infections Program (EIP) Healthcare-Associated Infections Community Interface (HAIC) activity.
