Funding Opportunity Details

The Colorado HIV and AIDS Prevention Program (CHAPP) is to address local community needs by funding medically accurate HIV and AIDS prevention and education programs based in behavioral and social science theory and research through a competitive grant process.

Supported activities should relate to awareness (e.g. public information campaign) and interventions related to the role of geosocial networking applications in STI epidemiology. Specifically, this RFA supports projects which reflect recent advances in technology-based health promotion whereby application users can quickly see a map of the closest clinic(s) for testing and treatment based on their location at the time of GSN use – a service known as “geofencing.” This RFA also supports STI (and STI resource) awareness utilizing evidence-informed methodologies that will reach specific populations in relevant geographic areas that address disproportionate burden of STI and HIV risk. Priority populations for these interventions will include African American, Latinx, and rural-residing subpopulations
