Climate change

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment recently created a Climate Change Unit within the Air Pollution Control Division to lead the achievement of reduction goals set in *2019 legislation. The unit is charged with developing state regulations and strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), improving GHG data and inventory work, and coordinating with other state agencies to support local community climate efforts. Because health equity and environmental justice is a top priority for the state, the unit will be keenly focused on communities disproportionately impacted by climate change and transitioning economies.
