Photo of Beth Martinez HumenikSenator Beth Martinez Humenik represents Colorado Senate District 24 in Adams County. She is a fourth generation Coloradan who grew up in Fort Collins. She has lived in the City of Thornton since 1997. Her great grandparents made a life-saving decision to bring their family to safety during the Mexican Revolution by leaving their ranch, lifestyle and everything they owned behind to come to America where they proudly became American citizens. Her maternal grandparents migrated from the mid-west to Colorado for an opportunity to farm a land rich in agriculture. Strong family values and work ethics are an important part of daily life. Both families settled in the Southeastern part of Colorado where many of her relatives still reside.

Senator Martinez Humenik received her Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s of Science degree from Colorado State University. She is actively involved with the municipal leaders in Thornton, Northglenn and Westminster that represent the three cities in Senate District 24 as well as the Adams County Commissioners, Federal Offices, Agencies and the Colorado Congressional Delegation in Washington, DC. Senator Martinez Humenik, a former local proprietary college Adjunct Instructor and K-12 substitute teacher, has a long history of educators in her family.
