Revised Total Coliform Rule - Stakeholder

Back to stakeholder information

The department is proposing rule changes to the state’s adopted Revised Total Coliform Rule and we are requesting stakeholder feedback by Oct. 9. The rule changes are non-substantive changes to the text such as clarifying text and cross reference edits.
The Revised Total Coliform Rule protects public health because it sets fecal contamination standards (e.g. E.coli) and requires monitoring, certain treatment techniques, and public notification. The rule can be found in Regulation 11
The state is proposing revisions to the rule which will ultimately result in EPA granting the state full authority to oversee the rule which will ultimately allow the state to provide public water systems better customer service than if they didn’t have that full authority.
Comment deadline Oct. 9, 2019
Please submit comments electronically using the comment form no later than Oct. 9, 2019. All of the proposed changes to the rule are available for review in the Draft proposed language document, using track changes (i.e., redlines). Note, there will be no stakeholder meetings or webinars.
